As Ford Motor Company's lead logistics provider (LLP), Penske quality associates—each trained in Six Sigma practices—worked closely with Ford to streamline operations and to create and maintain an optimized central logistics network. Together, we uncovered areas for real cost savings. We decreased inbound carrier discrepancies, eliminated unnecessary premium costs and reduced shipment overages. Plus, we implemented accountability procedures and advanced logistics management technologies to gain more visibility of Ford's overall supply network.
