Dave Cumbo
Senior Vice President of Operations West Region
Dave Cumbo is senior vice president of operations for the West region for Penske Logistics. He is responsible for revenue growth, operations, pretax earnings, safety compliance and customer relations in this geographic region of the U.S., which includes Western Canada and all of Mexico. He has served in this role since 2007.
Prior to his current position, Cumbo spent three years as senior vice president for Penske’s General Motors account, where he was responsible for managing the strategic global relationship and operational execution. He was also the vice president for GM operations for five years, and established Penske GM operations in Mexico. He was also a sales director for Penske in the automotive group.
Cumbo joined Leaseway Transportation in 1980, a company Penske purchased in 1995. He held a variety of roles within Leaseway, including general manager, manager of business development, East regional manager and terminal manager.
Cumbo is a six-time winner of the Penske Logistics President’s Award, and has also appeared in the company’s Winner’s Circle.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Western Michigan University. As a college student, Cumbo worked for GM in manufacturing and assembly plants.
