He was vice president of operations for Leaseway Transportation for nearly 15 years, which Penske purchased in 1995. Before serving in various operational roles for Leaseway, Abruzzi was an over-the-road truck driver for five years.
Abruzzi has earned bachelor's degrees in psychology and sociology from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and a master's degree in industrial relations from Wayne State University in Michigan.
Among his honors: two-time selection to the Midwest Who's Who list, five-time Penske Logistics President's Award recipient and a three-time honoree to the Kutztown University of Pennsylvania Leaders in Industry List.
Abruzzi is a member of the United Way of Berks and Lehigh County's Tocqueville Society, Kutztown University College of Business Advisory Board and the DeSales University President's and Business Advisory Councils.
He and his wife Eileen reside in Whitehall, Pennsylvania. They have five daughters and 12 grandchildren.
