What Is Order Picking?

Understand how Order Picking fits into the supply chain

Order picking refers to the choosing of products from a storage location to coordinate for an order or shipment. Speeding up picking operations is an effective way to improve the utilization of a warehouse. There are many different types of order picking to choose from, depending on the design of a warehouse, the number of employees or pickers, etc. Some examples of types of order picking include pick-to-trailer, pick/pack, pick-to-carton and pick-to-light.
