What Is Big Data?

Understand how Big Data fits into the supply chain

Used in logistics analytics, big data is when large, complex amounts of data are accumulated from multiple sources and processed to return actionable insights, such as patterns or trends. These insights can also include information related to ETAs, inventory practices, transportation costs or warehouse overstocks, and can facilitate opportunities for corrective action or resolutions. When a company knows something is happening or will happen, those involved can plan how to respond.
