What Is Zone Picking?

Understand how Zone Picking fits into the supply chain

Zone picking, also referred to as Batch Picking, is a method of picking orders where workers select products from within an assigned zone to fill part of an order. Assigning workers to a specific zone allows them to gain extensive knowledge about their zone and included products, leading to increased speed and a reduction of errors. Zone picking is one of several picking methods that can help speed up warehouse operations, improving the utilization of the warehouse and ensuring a more efficient supply chain.
