Artificial intelligence (AI) is a computer simulation of the human thought process. AI techniques are helping to improve supply chain operations through network-wide visibility, collaboration and orchestration. Within the supply chain, AI will help process data and reveal different options faster. At that point, human expertise and experience takes over to assess and utilize the information to make it useful. AI excels at finding anomalies while also compiling and analyzing data and making recommendations on how to move forward.
