What Is Closed-Loop Supply Chain?

Understand how a Closed-Loop Supply Chain fits into logistics

A closed-loop supply chain is a supply chain framework focused on the complete chain of operations for the entire lifecycle of a product, integrating forward and reverse logistics. As an example of a closed-loop recycling network, the network moves finished aluminum coils from a fabrication facility in New York to various auto production stamping plants in Michigan, New York and Kentucky. It then transports the aluminum scrap generated from the stamping process back to the New York re-melt facility to be incorporated into new coil production.
