What Is Machine Learning (ML)?

Understand how Machine Learning fits into the supply chain

Machine learning is a branch of artificial intelligence (AI) that uses algorithms and analysis to identify patterns in large data sets, then learns from these patterns to make decisions and predict outcomes without programming. As an example of usage, the prediction abilities of machine learning have led to the development of truck pricing prediction models, which can help shippers understand for-hire truckload pricing movements with much greater precision. As a result, shippers are better able to negotiate competitive rates for their freight.
